A few years ago Raif Naffah and I did some work with the Tom Wu's Secure Remote Password protocol and created an internet draft for using SASL, GSSAPI and EAP with SRP. I also created a draft for upgrading to the SRP SASL mechanism from HTTP like RFC 2817does for TLS.
The latest versions of these drafts are now available at http://keith.burdis.org/Home/secure-remote-password. I hope to pick this up again now that RFC4422 (SASL) and RFC4013 (SASLprep) have been completed.
